Looked in the mirror this morning and decided I do need a haircut. Didn’t want to wait, wanted it now, today (instant gratification). Remembered seeing a sign for one of those national haircutters, the one the advertises clipping your hair great, so I stopped by.
I walk in and before I could even tell them I wanted a haircut, I was asked for my phone number – no good morning, no welcome, no don’t bother us, just what’s your phone number!
Maybe I didn’t have enough coffee, but it just didn’t sit well with me. I’ve stopped giving my phone number to everyone who wants it; I already get between 30 and 50 spam calls, texts and emails – a day!
Me refusing to give my phone number didn’t sit well with that employee because I was flat out told that, since I won’t give them my phone number, they won’t give me a haircut!
I’m still trying to figure out what sophisticated, high-end, top-notch company that is who can afford to not serve customers who want a haircut? Isn’t that what they’re in business for?
Now I’m wondering: when is McDonald’s refusing to sell me a burger unless I give them my phone number?!? They’re both in the same fast serve products line.
